In a grand celebration held on Monday at the Remo Stars football club’s academy refectory, Hon. Kunle Soname, OFR, the President of the club, extended his heartfelt appreciation to the players, technical crew, and supporters for their outstanding contribution to the team’s triumphant 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League season. The highlight of the event was the announcement of substantial monetary rewards, culminating in a CAF Champions League ticket.
Hon. Kunle Soname commended the players for their remarkable display of professionalism throughout the season, which resulted in securing the coveted CAF Champions League qualification. The President also expressed gratitude to the dedicated coaches for their unwavering commitment to the club’s success.
Amidst an atmosphere of joy and excitement, Hon. Kunle Soname surprised the players by presenting them with a remarkable gift of 20 million naira. The generous gesture was met with resounding cheers and applause from the team. Recognizing the indispensable role played by the technical crew and medical team, the President further announced a reward of five million naira for their hard work and contribution.
The Remo Stars FC President did not forget the crucial role played by the media team and the Supporters Club. In recognition of their significant contributions to the club’s success, Hon. Kunle Soname announced monetary gifts of 1.5 million naira for each group, drawing appreciation and admiration from all present.
To everyone’s surprise and delight, two of the President’s esteemed guests also joined in the generosity, contributing one million naira and 500,000 naira respectively, further enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
The event witnessed the presence of the club’s management, players, members of the supporters club, academy players, and esteemed members of the media personnel. The sense of unity and camaraderie among all those present was palpable, highlighting the strong bond within the Remo Stars football community.
With this remarkable feat, Remo Stars FC will embark on their second consecutive continental campaign, having earned promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League. The team’s aspirations are set on making a resounding impact in the CAF Champions League after last season’s CAF Confederation Cup exit to ASFAR of Morocco.
