The Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, Akinmasa I, has passionately urged Agboyi indigenes both within the region and across the diaspora to unite for the collective development of the area.
The monarch made this clarion call on Friday shortly after participating in the Jumat prayers service held at the Agboyi Central Mosque, marking the 3rd anniversary of his ascension to the throne.
Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega emphasized that unity among the people of Agboyi is paramount for the growth of the kingdom, the advancement of Lagos State, and the overall development of Nigeria. “Our progress as a community hinges on our unity. It is only when the people of the domain are united that we can forge ahead and foster the socioeconomic development of Agboyi land,” he stated.
In his address, the monarch urged all residents and stakeholders to come together, leveraging their collective strength to accelerate Agboyi’s development and attract positive opportunities to the area. He emphasized that regardless of any grievances that might arise, it is essential to maintain unity and prioritize the greater good of Agboyi.
Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega affirmed, “Whatever redress any aggrieved parties seek should not deter us from our goal of achieving unity, development, and growth in Agboyi. Every project I facilitate is for the betterment of all.”
Highlighting the future implications of participating in the town’s development process, the monarch asserted, “I am not in conflict with anyone, and my palace doors are open to all.”
The monarch expressed his gratitude to the Agboyi Muslim community for their unwavering support since his ascension to the throne. He acknowledged their role in shaping the positive trajectory of Agboyi’s progress.
Sheik Imam Lawal Surakat, the Chief Imam of Agboyi 1 Central Mosque, lauded the monarch for his notable contributions to the kingdom’s development within a short period of his reign. Sheik Imam Lawal Surakat also called upon other traditional leaders and public office holders to approach their roles with sincerity and good intentions.
The giant strides exemplified in the social development of Agboyi Kingdom are appreciated.
