In a gesture of appreciation and recognition, Ta’awun, a non-governmental organization through its Ta’awun Political Forum based in Kosofe and Ikeja Local Government areas, commended Kosofe Local Government for its initiatives aimed at benefiting residents, especially the youth.

Mr. Taiwo Lasisi. Y, President of Ta’awun Political Forum, extended his commendation during the organization’s Independence Day Celebrations and Workshop program held in Kosofe, Lagos on October 2.

During the event, Mr. Taiwo highlighted the importance of youth participation in politics and governance, particularly in Kosofe, including Agboyi Ketu and Ikosi-Isheri LCDAs. He stressed the impact of the local government administration, led by Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe Esq, on youth engagement.

Taiwo praised the administration’s consistent support for the youth, citing initiatives such as providing free JAMB and GCE forms. He noted that while some other LCDAs within Kosofe had not yet adopted similar programs, the current administration in Kosofe had distributed forms to empower young people.

Regarding employment opportunities, Taiwo acknowledged that some individuals employing youth had made efforts to engage two to three young people. He encouraged other Local Government Chairmen to follow suit and pay attention to the Taawun Political Forum’s initiatives.

He emphasized that Ta’awun Political Forum was committed to supporting local government administrations in projects aimed at mobilizing and empowering youths. Taiwo highlighted the importance of financial support and the involvement of personnel in these initiatives, stressing that such programs were designed to benefit the youth.

Taiwo reiterated that these efforts were driven by a belief that government alone cannot address the needs of the youth. He emphasized the organization’s commitment to utilizing its resources to assist and empower young people, underscoring the collective responsibility of both government and NGOs in nurturing the potential of Nigeria’s youth population.
