In the aftermath of the unfortunate demise of Kosofe’s Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Ezekiel Fadipe, the spotlight now turns to the seasoned journalist and former Senior Legislative Aide, Olusegun Apena. Kosofe Post Reviews asserts that Apena stands out as the best candidate to fill the void left by the late Chief Press Secretary.

During the tenures of both the former and current Kosofe Local Government Chairmen, Apena played a pivotal role in supporting the Information Unit of the council. His significant contributions during Moyosore Ogunlewe’s administration showcased his capabilities in the realm of local government media affairs.

Despite expectations that Apena would be officially appointed to complement the council’s media team when the incumbent Chairman assumed office, he secured a National Assembly Senior Legislative Aide position facilitated by his principal, former lawmaker Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye.

However, potential obstacles arise due to Apena’s unwavering allegiance to Hon. Agunsoye, a factor that might pose challenges with some APC kingmakers if the Council Chairman considers him for the role.

Nevertheless, Apena’s qualifications and experience make him the most suitable candidate for the job, eliminating the need for on-the-job learning or extensive supervision. His bid for the Ifako-Gbadaga Ward C Councilor position under the All Progressives Congress in 2021 further demonstrates his active involvement in local governance.
