Ketu Day: Leaders Rally Support for Economic Revival, Community Development

At the 13th Coronation Anniversary of Dr. Isiaka Balogun, the Oba of Ketu Lagos, leaders from various spheres of influence gathered to discuss the economic future and communal development of Ketu, Lagos. Among them was a Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, who assured constituents of impending economic revitalization efforts spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu.

Addressing the gathering, the federal lawmaker emphasized the need for patience as the government works towards economic recovery. She expressed optimism that with concerted efforts, the national economy would soon experience a surge, leading to prosperity for all.

Echoing her sentiments, Mr. Saheed Obafemi, a Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency II, commended the traditional leader for his wisdom in steering the affairs of the community. He urged the youth to uphold lawfulness and responsibility in their daily endeavors, emphasizing the importance of active citizenship in nation-building.

Likewise, Mr. Ganiu Okanlawon, also a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe 1, reiterated the commitment of leaders to mitigate the challenges facing the country. He encouraged diligence and lawfulness among the youth, assuring residents that the current state of affairs would soon be a thing of the past.

In her remarks, Princess Bolanle Bada, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), underscored the significance of cultural heritage in fostering unity and community support. She pledged to promote cultural values in the community and called for collective effort towards a better future.

Olori Biola Bode-Benson, the newly appointed Yeye Otunba Tunwase of Ketu Land, expressed gratitude for the bestowed chieftaincy title and pledged to utilize her position for community development. She urged cooperation among Ketu residents and leaders to facilitate developmental programs in the area.

Prince Shakiru Adesubomi Adekunle Balogun, Chairman of the Planning Committee of Ketu Day 2024, extended appreciation to all contributors to the event’s success, emphasizing the importance of collective enthusiasm and determination in driving societal progress.
