Residents of Lagos State continue to grapple with the persistent failure of the Lagos State Water Corporation to provide adequate water supply, prompting local leaders to take matters into their own hands.

Despite the vision and mission of the Lagos State Water Corporation to sustainably meet the potable water demand in the state, residents have been left disillusioned as the promise of safe drinking water remains unfulfilled. In response to this dire situation, various stakeholders, including Federal and State lawmakers, non-government organizations, and religious institutions, have resorted to self-intervention to address the pressing need for clean water.

The latest to join this initiative is the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, who has embarked on a massive borehole construction project across Kosofe. Recognizing the urgent need to provide relief to residents and improve their overall well-being, Hon. Ogunlewe has initiated the construction of 20 boreholes, with the first phase comprising 10 boreholes.

The borehole construction initiative is aimed at providing much-needed relief to residents who have long endured the challenges of unreliable water supply. By taking proactive measures to address this critical issue, Hon. Ogunlewe seeks to alleviate the suffering of the people and ensure access to clean and safe drinking water.

The launch of this project underscores the importance of local leadership in addressing the fundamental needs of the community. As the Lagos State Water Corporation continues to grapple with challenges in meeting its mandate, initiatives such as the borehole construction project initiated by Hon.
