The Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Dr. Hakeem Shittu, led a monitoring exercise across public primary schools in Lagos State to assess the conduct of the Unified Second Term Examination. Accompanied by the Board Secretary, Mr. Hakeem Lamidi, and other officials, the visit aimed to ensure the smooth administration of the examination and evaluate academic progress within the schools.
Dr. Shittu expressed satisfaction with the seamless execution of the examination, commending teachers, school administrators, and pupils for their discipline and commitment. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of education stakeholders in upholding high academic standards and fostering a conducive learning environment.
As part of the monitoring exercise, Dr. Shittu visited the inclusive unit at G.R.A Primary School in Ogudu, where he engaged with special needs pupils. He encouraged the students to remain focused on their studies and reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to inclusive education, ensuring equal learning opportunities for all children.
“The Unified Second Term Examination is designed to provide a uniform assessment of the academic progress of pupils across all public primary schools,” Dr. Shittu stated.
The monitoring team visited several schools, including Emmanuel, G.R.A, and Ojota Public Primary Schools in the Kosofe Local Government Education Authority. Dr. Shittu reiterated LASUBEB’s commitment to improving the basic education sector in Lagos State, emphasizing the board’s dedication to academic excellence and inclusive learning.
