A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and traditional titleholder, Oloye Salami Oluwaseun, has filed a legal complaint against a woman identified as Ashroff Oyebanjo “Cassandra” over alleged defamatory remarks made on a political WhatsApp group known as Kosofe Voice.
In a legal notice issued by his counsel, Lords & Temple, Salami is demanding a public retraction of the statements, a formal apology published in two national newspapers, and ₦100 million in damages. The statements in question, described as a “malicious publication” by his lawyers, were said to be aimed at damaging Salami’s reputation and political influence.
According to the letter from his legal team, Cassandra allegedly made several accusations about Salami’s financial transactions and political loyalties, including claims that he acquired a luxury vehicle under dubious circumstances. The remarks also reportedly questioned Salami’s support for Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, in a case related to alleged financial mismanagement.

Salami’s lawyers have refuted all the allegations, maintaining that the vehicle was bought using personal funds from legitimate business operations, and not linked to any public office or political dealings. They further described the comments as unfounded and injurious to Salami’s public image.
The legal notice gives Cassandra a 14-day ultimatum to retract the statements and issue a public apology or risk being taken to court.
The alleged defamatory comments have since circulated beyond the WhatsApp group, appearing on various social media platforms and blogs, heightening tensions within local political circles in Kosofe.
