Salami is seeking N100 million in damages from each defendant, alleging harm to his reputation.

The legal proceedings commenced with a Notice of Defamation issued by Salami’s counsel, reportedly posted at the Oyebanjo residence. This action has elicited a spectrum of reactions from the community.
Engr. Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, Publisher and CEO of MoschinoBlog, expressed skepticism regarding the lawsuit. He recalled instances where Salami had made unfounded allegations in the past, questioning the credibility of the current defamation claims. Adedayo remarked, “Someone that heavily denigrated R.O.T with unfounded allegations in 2023 is now seeking damages from defamation… He’s a big joke with this flimsy lawsuit.”
Similarly, community member Sulyman Olayiwola, known as Opomulero, questioned the validity of the defamation allegations, suggesting that discussing someone’s behavior or political shifts does not necessarily constitute defamation. He stated, “Is talking about someone who drinks irresponsibly a defamation? Or is someone who changes allegiance like clothes not a nuisance?”
In response to these criticisms, Salami dismissed the remarks, stating, “Let them continue wailing. God will punish him. I never spoke with that fool. I don’t know this useless Opomulero or whatever name he called himself, and I have never had any conversation with him.”
This legal action adds to the ongoing political tensions within the Kosofe APC community, highlighting internal disputes and raising questions about the boundaries of political discourse and defamation.
