A staunch supporter of the Lagos State Commissioner for Waterfront and Infrastructure Development, Hon. Ekundayo Alebiosu, Seun Salami, has defended the commissioner following criticisms from supporters of the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe.

Speaking with Kosofe News Updates, Salami maintained that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu—rather than any local government chairman—holds the constitutional authority to assess or question the performance of a commissioner.

Salami’s comments followed remarks from some of Ogunlewe’s loyalists, who accused Alebiosu, popularly known as “Dbush,” of having “little or no impact” in Kosofe since his appointment to the state cabinet.

One of the critics challenged Salami directly, saying:

“Please tell your boss, Dbush, to point out what he’s doing in Kosofe. Almost a thousand days in office, there’s nothing to show for it.”

Another resident added:

“Even when he was representing Kosofe in the House of Representatives, all we saw was a micro borehole project in Ifako. ROT was representing Kosofe too, and we saw what he brought to our constituency. The facts are there.”

Responding, Salami argued that the commissioner’s accountability lies strictly with the Lagos State Government.

“Did you elect Dbush into office?” he asked. “The last I checked, he is an appointee of Mr. Governor, and it is the governor who has the right to query and assess his performance—not the chairman.”

The exchange underscores rising political tension between supporters of Hon. Alebiosu and Hon. Ogunlewe over developmental projects and political influence within the Kosofe area.
