Ambassador Moyosore Badejo, a prominent figure within the Labour Party (LP) and a well-known grassroots mobiliser in Kosofe, has formally resigned from the party, a development that is already stirring political conversations across the area.
Popularly called “MOG – Moyo of Gbagada,” Badejo was the Labour Party’s councillorship candidate for Ward C, Ifako-Soluyi (Araromi), in Kosofe Local Government Area during the 2025 election cycle. His resignation was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday.
In the statement, Badejo said his decision followed wide-ranging consultations with key stakeholders, loyal supporters, and political associates. He stressed that the move was neither impulsive nor emotionally driven, but a carefully weighed decision informed by prevailing political realities.
Reflecting on his time in the party, Badejo expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve under the Labour Party platform, describing the experience as one of growth and engagement. He thanked party members and supporters for the trust and cooperation extended to him throughout his stay.
While confirming his exit, the grassroots politician disclosed that discussions were already underway regarding his next political destination. Although he declined to mention a specific party, he noted that a particular platform was currently under serious consideration and that a formal announcement would be made once consultations were concluded.
Badejo reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development in Ward C and Kosofe at large, insisting that his political journey remains anchored on community service and local impact, regardless of party affiliation.
His departure is widely regarded as a significant loss for the Labour Party in Ward C, where he commands notable grassroots support. Political observers say his next move could alter local political alignments and influence emerging dynamics within Kosofe.
As anticipation builds around his next political step, attention is firmly fixed on Ambassador Badejo, whose decision is expected to shape conversations ahead of future political contests in the area.
