A former Administrator of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Afolabi Kazeem, has extended warm felicitations to renowned businessman and football investor, Kunle Soname, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

Soname, a former local government chairman in Lagos State, has built a strong reputation as one of Africa’s leading investors in football, with a diverse portfolio spanning multiple clubs and developmental initiatives. His investments include Remo Stars F.C., Beyond Limits FA, Remo Stars Ladies, as well as Portuguese side C.D. Feirense.

Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, Kazeem disclosed that both men have known each other since 1983, when they were admitted into the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University). He noted that their friendship has endured through decades of shared experiences in academics, business, and politics.

Describing the celebrant as a “jolly good friend” and a committed philanthropist, Kazeem praised Soname’s approachable personality and his willingness to support others. He particularly highlighted Soname’s contributions to youth development through football, noting that many young Nigerians have benefited from his investments in sports.
“He likes to mingle with people, and that reflects in what he has built today—from Bet9ja to football clubs. He has helped several young people achieve their dreams of becoming professional footballers,” Kazeem said.
He further commended Soname’s entrepreneurial drive and consistent investment in Nigeria’s sports ecosystem, describing him as a rare figure whose contributions continue to shape the country’s sports economy.
Kazeem concluded by offering prayers for continued strength, good health, and greater accomplishments for the celebrant, expressing optimism that his impact will continue to inspire future generations and contribute to national development.
