The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced a reconciliation process in Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) as part of efforts to strengthen party unity and address concerns arising from the recently concluded primary elections.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the party secretariat in Ketu on Thursday, the Lagos State APC Treasurer, Hon. Biodun Akhigbe, said the initiative was aimed at bringing together aspirants, candidates, and party faithful to ensure cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Akhigbe noted that the reconciliation process was essential not only for maintaining harmony within the party but also for enhancing the APC’s electoral prospects by presenting a united front.
According to her, the party leadership recognizes that competitive primary elections often generate disagreements and varying expectations among members, making post-primary reconciliation a necessary step toward rebuilding trust and strengthening internal democracy.
She explained that the party would engage stakeholders through a series of consultations, dialogues, and meetings designed to foster understanding and address grievances among members who may feel dissatisfied with the outcome of the primaries.
“These meetings are not mere formalities. They are deliberate efforts to engage directly with party members, listen to their concerns, and chart a collective path forward,” Akhigbe said.
She added that the process would provide an opportunity for aspirants and stakeholders to openly express their views while encouraging a renewed commitment to the party’s shared objectives.
Also speaking at the meeting, former Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, described the reconciliation initiative as a strategic move to address internal divisions and strengthen party cohesion following the primary elections.
Arobieke stated that the APC leadership was committed to creating platforms where members could freely share their concerns, aspirations, and recommendations for the growth of the party.
She said the reconciliation process would focus on promoting inclusiveness, dialogue, and collaboration among all factions within the party structure.
“By prioritising reconciliation, the APC is not only mending relationships but also building a stronger and more resilient political family ahead of future electoral contests,” she said.
According to her, the process demonstrates the party’s commitment to ensuring that every member feels valued and has a role to play in achieving the collective goals of the APC.
The stakeholders’ meeting attracted several prominent party leaders and political figures from across Agboyi-Ketu LCDA. Among those in attendance were elder statesman Baba Ladejobi; former Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke; former Sole Administrator of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Tunji Ilelaboye; former Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Hon. Biodun Salami; former Executive Secretary, Hon. Christy Otuyalo; former Vice Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. (Mrs.) Folake Kayode; Commissioner for Audit Service, Hon. Alade Aigoro; as well as numerous party leaders and stakeholders from across the council area.
The reconciliation initiative forms part of broader efforts by the APC across Kosofe and Lagos State to consolidate support, heal post-primary divisions, and strengthen party structures ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
