The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives, Kosofe Federal Constituency, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has called on all party aspirants and stakeholders to close ranks and work collectively towards securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 General Election.
Oshinowo made the appeal during the APC Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Stakeholders’ Meeting, where party leaders and members gathered to reflect on the recently concluded primary elections and chart a course for the forthcoming general elections.

Addressing party faithful, Oshinowo stressed the importance of unity, reconciliation, and grassroots engagement, describing the meeting as an opportunity for members to reflect, reconnect, and refocus on the broader objectives of the party.
According to him, the time had come for all aspirants and candidates to set aside personal interests and work together in the collective interest of the APC and the nation.
He noted that a united front would not only strengthen the party ahead of the elections but also position it to effectively communicate its achievements and vision to the electorate.
“As of today, we have all won. This is not the time to contest against victory. This is about the progress of our party, and this is the best time for us to come together and work as one family,” Oshinowo said.
He described the stakeholders’ meeting as the beginning of a reconciliation process aimed at bringing together both successful candidates and former aspirants following the primary elections.
“The stakeholders’ meeting is to start our reconciliation process and to also say thank you to APC members in Agboyi-Ketu, Ikosi-Isheri, and across Kosofe. It is also an opportunity to appreciate our father, our leader, and the President of Nigeria for giving young people the opportunity to represent the people at both federal and state levels,” he stated.
Oshinowo commended President Tinubu for introducing direct primaries within the party, which he said provided a level playing field for all aspirants and ensured that members’ votes counted.
“We thank the President for giving us a level playing ground through direct primaries and for protecting our votes. We are promising to give him our total support to ensure his re-election in 2027,” he added.
The APC candidate expressed confidence that Kosofe Federal Constituency would deliver overwhelming support for President Tinubu and other APC candidates in the next election cycle.
He also reflected on lessons from the party’s primary elections, emphasizing that elected officials and political leaders must remain connected to the grassroots.
“The grassroots remain very important. We must continue to engage them in governance and make them feel valued because they are the foundation of our political success,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, APC candidate for Kosofe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Dr. Muritala Seriki, said the party had already commenced reconciliation efforts with both aggrieved and non-aggrieved members.
According to him, the gathering demonstrated the strength and unity of the APC in the constituency, as evidenced by the large turnout of party faithful.
“We are here to meet our party loyalists and faithful in Kosofe Constituency II. The turnout shows the level of support and solidarity within the party. We must appreciate President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for supporting the direct primary process, which allowed party members to freely determine their preferred candidates,” Seriki said.
He described the primaries as a true reflection of democratic principles and assured party members that ongoing reconciliation efforts would ensure that all interests were harmonised ahead of the 2027 elections.
“The reconciliation process is still ongoing, and the party will continue to reach out to all members, whether aggrieved or not, so that we can unite and focus on winning future elections,” he added.
Seriki expressed confidence that the APC would secure victory across all elective positions in Kosofe, including the re-election of President Tinubu, the emergence of Dr. Obafemi Hamzat as Lagos State governor, the return of Senator Adetokunbo Abiru to the Senate, the election of Mayor Dele Oshinowo to the House of Representatives, and his own election to the Lagos State House of Assembly.
