Oworonshoki Community Mourns Passing of Alhaja Kikelomo Odutayo in London

The community of Oworonshoki in Kosofe Local Government Area has been thrown into mourning following the death of Alhaja Kikelomo Odutayo (1952–2026), wife of prominent community leader, Alhaji Odutayo.

Alhaja Odutayo reportedly passed away in London after a brief illness.

According to sources close to the family, she and her husband travelled to the United Kingdom only last week, reportedly to seek medical attention for an undisclosed ailment she had been battling for some time.

Beyond her role as a devoted wife and mother, Alhaja Odutayo was a highly respected figure in her hometown. She held the prestigious title of Iyalode of Bobagbimo, one of the Regberegbe (social-cultural age groups) in Ijebu-Ode, where she was widely admired for her leadership, generosity, and contributions to community development.

News of her passing has elicited an outpouring of grief from family members, friends, associates, and community leaders, many of whom have described her death as a significant loss to both Oworonshoki and her native community.

As of the time of this report, the family has yet to announce funeral arrangements. It remains unclear whether her burial will take place in the United Kingdom or whether her remains will be repatriated to Nigeria for Islamic funeral rites.
