Stakeholders in Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, have commended the Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation (MDOF) and philanthropist Seyi Tinubu for extending free healthcare services to residents of Ajegunle and Irawo communities under the Kosofe Cares initiative.
The outreach entered its sixth day on Wednesday, with hundreds of residents turning out at the Stephen Adeola Oyedele Sports and Recreation Centre in Irawo to access the services.
The nine-day initiative, organised by Mayor Dele Oshinowo, former Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kosofe Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections, in partnership with Seyi Tinubu, aims to reach more than 4,000 residents across the constituency.
The medical intervention, delivered through the Lagos State ILERA EKO Health Insurance Scheme, provides free health insurance enrolment, medication, tuberculosis testing, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, medical consultations, eye examinations and prescription glasses.
Abubakar Commends Initiative
Speaking to residents at the outreach, Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mrs Tolani Abubakar, praised the organisers for bringing the services directly to communities with large populations.

She said the programme was designed to ease residents’ access to healthcare and provide beneficiaries with one year of health insurance coverage under ILERA EKO, which would enable them to access medical services at their chosen participating hospitals.
Abubakar said the intervention reflected Oshinowo’s commitment to supporting residents beyond his tenure as council chairman.
She urged beneficiaries to take advantage of the medical examinations and free medication provided by the medical team.
According to her, registered beneficiaries would receive ILERA EKO cards that could be used for subsequent medical treatment at participating healthcare facilities.
Abubakar also encouraged residents to support APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, including the party’s presidential and Lagos governorship candidates, Mayor Dele Oshinowo and Dr Muritala Ishola Seriki.
Ogungbo Highlights Oshinowo’s Community Interventions
The Director-General of KOH-PBAT in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mr Abiodun Ogungbo, said Oshinowo had maintained a record of community support dating back to his tenure as council chairman.

He said the outreach was intended to help residents address health concerns through consultations with medical professionals.
Ogungbo noted that the turnout reflected residents’ interest in the opportunity to access free medical services and enrol in the ILERA EKO scheme.
Oshinowo Urges Residents to Take Advantage of Outreach
Addressing beneficiaries, Oshinowo encouraged residents to inform their relatives, neighbours and friends about the programme before it ends.
He said the initiative included free health insurance coverage for one year, allowing beneficiaries to access services at participating primary healthcare facilities.

He listed some of the services available under the scheme as medical consultations, minor surgical procedures, maternity care and eye-related services.
Oshinowo urged residents to complete their registration and medical checks before the outreach closes on Saturday, November 7.

He also called on voters in the Kosofe Federal Constituency to support APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, including candidates contesting for presidential, senatorial, House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly seats.
