Honourable Okanlawon distributes free educational materials to pupils

The legislator representing Kosofe Constituency 1 State House of
Assembly, has flagged off the distribution of educational materials to schools in Kosofe Constituency 1 for the purpose of enhancing adequate learning for students of his constituency at Oworonshoki Primary School , Oworonshoki.

The House Committee Chairman on Education, Okanlawon at the flag-off, stated that there is need to support the people at the grassroots, especially the young pupils and students with the necessary educational materials.

”Sometimes ago, I constituted a 7 Man Committee led by Moyo Ogunlewe on EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS, and they came up with fantastic recommendations in their reports on the challenges bedeviling education in Kosofe Constituency 1. I have to rise up by gradually, step by step to implementat the recommendation of the committee,” he said.

There is a need to support our students both in primary and secondary Schools all within our power.

Scholarship to Students residing in Kosofe Constituency 1 that are in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education, Computer Laboratory in Emmanuel Nursery and Primary School, Ojota, among others, will be unveil in October according to the Lawmaker.

The headmistress of the Muslim Mission Primary School,Mrs Okeke ifeoma , gave kudos to the lawmaker for choosing Oworonshoki school complex to Flag off the programme,”I am very greatful for this gesture by Honourable Okanlawon for bringing this kind of initiative to our school, he is indeed a caring father to us all’ she said.

Kosofe Local Government Authority Education Secretary; Tunde Soneye expresed his appreciation to Okanlawon’s for his kind gesture.” We appreciate him for distributing exercise books for our pupils in this school complex in Oworonshoki. The Distribution gesture will go a long way in helping our pupils in writing their subjects in the class.

Most of these pupils their parents are less previledge, sometimes they don’t come with enough writing materials especially excercise books because they believe Government must provide everything. So, this kind of gesture help the pupils and parents to have complete excercise books,” He said

A primary five pupil of Oworonshoki primary school, Mistress Bolaji Aisha also showered emcomiums on the lawmaker,’we thank the lawmaker for giving us these materials because we truly need them to do well in our class, I pray that God will continue to provide for him more’ She prayed.

Other schools that benefited from the writing materials include Muslim Mission Primary School, Mosafejo Primary School, Oworonshoki, Oke Ifako Primary School, Ifako, Ifako Primary School, Ifako respectively.
