IKEDC Solicits Ikorodu Communities Corporation Over Load Shedding, Redistribution On Transformers

Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company has solicited for corporation from Ikorodu communities over load shedding, and redistribution on transformers pending when they will be able to relieve the feeder.

This was disclosed to our correspondent by representatives from Corporate Communications Units at Ikeja Electric, Mr. Akinola Ayeni on Saturday morning

When he was contacted over no power supply in Eruwen, Grammar school, Agbele, Kokoro Abu area of Ikorodu, Lagos over two weeks, he said he tried as much as possible to wage into the matter through the Ikorodu Business Manager and other colleagues.

He explained that they held meetings with the affected communities who rejected continuous load shedding over the overloaded feeder and the need to carry out load redistribution on the transformers for stability along with little load shedding pending when they will be able to relieve the feeder while the plan is ongoing.

He further debunked the claims that the Electric company resorted to punishing the customers who have been subjected to load shedding over 7 years for refusing the company new proposition.

“I learned that the community outrightly rejected load shedding and load redistribution on transformers. We don’t have anything to gain by punishing the community. Ikeja Electric is highly customer-centric and that is why we are looking for various solutions for stability of power in the communities and the more we are able to do that the community members will be happy, and we will also have the freedom to carry out our operations without any disturbance.

“We are soliciting for their cooperation to please allow us to do what is necessary for better mutual relationship.”

“They need to allow them to carry out the load redistribution which will definitely reduce the hours of load shedding pending the permanent solution, ” Ayeni urged the affected communities.

According to the affected Communities claimed the usage of power from January 3, January 4 to 8, January 9 to 14, January 15 estimated to 6hrs 37 mins As at 15 January 2022, 5:37am.
