The camp of All Progresives Congress, led by the incumbent lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Honourable Rotimi Agunsoye, fondly called ROT, reportedly settled for Yacoob Balogun as the consensus candidate for Kosofe Constituency 2.
Prince Yacoob is a serial contestant for the Kosofe Constituency 2 seat. However, his ambition has not been able to see the light of the day as a result of intergroup power scheming.

Recalls 2020, Kosofe Post reports that Yacoob Balogun appeared and was screened by the Lagos State House of Assembly as a member of the Lagos State Audit Board Commission in replacement of the current APC State Secretary, Honourable Abiodun Akhigbe, who was rejected for unknown reasons.
However, the Akhigbe camp, led by the late Senator Bayo Oshinowo, kicked against the choice of Yacoob and replaced him with Mrs. Kafilat Ogbara, who recently resigned to join the Kosofe Federal Constituency race.
A source in the Federal lawmaker, Agunsoye’s camp, hinted that Hon. Yaqub Ishola Balogun has been chosen as the consensus candidate ahead of the Kosofe constituency 2 House of Assembly Primary election.
Other contestants in the ROT camp include Engr. Moshood Seriki Bamu and ex-SLG of Agboyi Ketu, Hon. Gbenga Osobu, who are yet to make a formal withdrawal from the race for Yacoob as at the time of filling this report.
The consensus candidate of the ROT camp will be challenging the incumbent lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 2, Honourable Femi Saheed, who is also seeking a fresh mandate.
