…I’m APC member to the core, Mrs Abbey Martins

Former Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area Vice Chairman, Mrs Aina Abiodun Martins, has been reportedly switched from a lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency of Lagos, Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye’s political camp to the Hon. Adekunle Soname led group.

A source disclosed that she recently pledged her allegiance to the group, a wing of the All Progressives Congress in the Ikosi Isheri area of Kosofe.

She allegedly dumped the lawmaker following the outcome of the controversial All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primary election held on May 27 that produced Mrs. Kafilat Ogbara as the party flagbearer.

Ogbara’s emergence was later greeted with massive protests from the aggrieved aspirants, including Rotimi Agunsoye, Engr. Abiodun Awokoya, and their teeming supporters.

While Agunsoye supporters were patiently waiting for the Independent Electoral Commission July 17 deadline for final candidate withdrawal and submission for the 2023 general elections, Abbey Martin’s and a few others have reached out to APC GAC leaders and other groups to intimate them of their decision.

When contacted over the development, Mrs. Martins, who described herself as a peacemaker, said she is a core APC member that doesn’t belong to nobody but belongs to everybody.

She urged party members to work in unity for the party’s 2023 general election total victory.

Part of her comments read, “I’m an APC member to the core. I am a lover of peace and unity. I belong to all the leaders in Kosofe and all the members, with no exception.”

She said, “About the coming general election, we should all work together for the success of our great party, from the presidential to the least position.”
