Council Chair, aides silent on allegations of using council money to fund anti-party activities

The Executive Chairman of Ikosi Isheri, Princess Samiat Bada, has remained silent over allegations of using council money to fund anti-party activities in Ogun State.

An online newspaper alleged, among others, that Bada-led council turned the council into a family affair by paying half a million dollars monthly from the council funds to her husband, Rt. Hon. Tola Banjo, a former Deputy Speaker of the Ogun House of Assembly and a diehard supporter of the People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.Tola also allegedly got a special council car from the chairman.

According to the reports, “Tola is said to be working vigorously against Samiat’s benefactor, All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Ogun State in favor of Atiku.”

In the report, Samiat’s blood sister was appointed as Council Chairperson with a monthly salary of N800,000. 

Samiat Bada’s chief press secretary, Kehinde Hamzat, when contacted, debunked the allegations. However, silent on other critical inquiries.

The Kosofe Post reports that since the council’s chairman accused lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal constituency, Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, of anti-party activities through a viral voice note, the lawmaker’s supporters have continued to expose the Ikosi Isheri first family’s anti-party activities and mismanagement of council funds, among others.
