Lagos Debate Competition Announces Qualifiers for Second Round in All Public Primary Schools”

In an exciting development for primary school students in Lagos, the Lagos Debate Competition, organized by LGNA International in partnership with the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has unveiled the list of qualified public schools for the second round of the All Public Primary Schools debate competition. The much-anticipated event is scheduled to take place simultaneously in six Local Government Areas on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

Under the leadership of CEO Tunde Jakande, LGNA International disclosed the comprehensive list of primary schools, debaters, and the local government councils they represent, marking their qualification for the second round of the highly competitive debate competition. The announcement was made on Tuesday, generating enthusiasm among participants and their supporters.

The venues for the second round of the competition will be Kosofe, Surulere, Mushin, Agege, Amuwo Odofin, and Lagos Island. These locations will witness the gathering of 18 judges, 48 teachers, and 6 SUBEB officers, who will play a crucial role in evaluating and selecting the schools and pupils that will progress to the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals are scheduled to be held on the 22nd of this month, raising the stakes and excitement even further.

Encouraging support from the public, CEO Tunde Jakande emphasized the importance of motivating the participating pupils whose names and schools have been shortlisted for the second round of the debate competition. Such support plays a pivotal role in boosting the confidence and enthusiasm of the young debaters as they prepare for the upcoming round.

It is worth noting that The Kosofe Post previously reported that a remarkable total of 1,017 Public Primary Schools from across Lagos State actively participated in the first round of the debate competition. This immense level of participation demonstrates the eagerness and talent among young students across the state.

As the second round approaches, all eyes are on the qualified primary schools and their debaters as they gear up to showcase their eloquence, critical thinking, and persuasive skills in the forthcoming debate competition.
