In a compelling effort to uplift educational standards within the Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the leadership under Samiat Abolanle-Bada has undertaken its annual distribution of General Certificate of Education (GCE) forms to deserving students from the locality. The move aims to empower the youths and promote learning opportunities for the underprivileged.

Around 250 beneficiaries successfully passed the rigorous screening process, demonstrating their dedication to taking part in the upcoming GCE examinations. During a gathering held to commemorate the distribution, Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi Isheri LCDA, emphasized the paramount importance of education in society.

“Education is an invaluable asset we can offer to our community. No amount of resources invested in education can ever be considered too much, as it remains the finest legacy we can bestow upon individuals, ensuring a life free of regret,” stated Abolanle Bada.

She continued, “As Robert Orben astutely observed, ‘If education is expensive, try ignorance.’ A nation cannot flourish in an environment plagued by ignorance.” Abolanle Bada expressed the commitment of her administration towards providing essential facilities that would enhance residents’ lives and secure a brighter future.

She announced, “Our administration will continue to prioritize providing free GCE examination forms to residents, and subsequently, we shall extend this initiative to include JAMB/UTME forms, ensuring that every willing student is granted an opportunity to excel.” The chairman encouraged the beneficiaries to prepare earnestly for their examinations and uphold the integrity of the assessment process by refraining from malpractice.

During the event, beneficiaries received the GCE forms while the education department managed their registration, all without incurring any cost. The chairman highlighted that this initiative is designed to foster educational development and alleviate the financial burden on parents who may struggle to afford the forms.

Oluwatoyin Abass, a beneficiary, expressed profound gratitude to the LCDA authorities, recognizing the impact this intervention would have on her life. She pledged her dedication to diligent study in preparation for the forthcoming examination.

This distribution of GCE forms underscores the determined approach of the Samiat Abolanle Bada-led administration in Ikosi Isheri LCDA. This initiative not only reflects the council’s commitment to empowering youths but also signifies its holistic approach to community development.

The Kosofe Post reported that this marks the continuation of a tradition, as the Ikosi Isheri LCDA also distributed 250 GCE forms to indigent youths in the previous year, further solidifying its dedication to educational advancement within the region.
