Comrade Olayiwola Sulaiman Opomulero has ignited a debate on the values of Omoluwabi in the political landscape of Ikosi Isheri LCDA. His remarks, directed at the 2021 Chairmanship aspirant, Sunday Oyekunle Jedege, popularly known as Loogun, shed light on the alleged sacrifice of Omoluwabi values for violence during the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.

Opomulero’s comments came in response to Jedege’s attempts to absolve APC from allegations of violence during the 2023 general elections , shifting the blame solely to the Labour Party or Obedient Movement Group. However, Opomulero reminded Oloogun of his own firsthand experience of violence within the party, questioning the sincerity of his defense.

“Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have responded, but it’s essential to address this issue. When you cry out during your primary, we in the opposition see the violence, intimidation, and result manipulation that occur within your own ranks,” Opomulero stated, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

He further called into question the role of obedience in instigating violence, asserting that it was not the movement itself but rather supporters of the ruling party who were behind the unrest, hiding behind various social media personas.

Opomulero’s remarks underscored a broader generational shift in politics, with the younger generation demanding accountability and change from the older guard. He referenced the END SARS MOVEMENT and highlighted the need for a change in power dynamics.

Challenging Loogun’s commitment to Omoluwabi values, Opomulero pointed to instances where political expediency seemed to overshadow integrity. He raised questions about the authenticity of leadership within the APC ranks, urging for a reevaluation of priorities.

Despite the glaring accusations, Loogun has yet to respond, leaving many to speculate on the implications of his silence.
