Comrade Olayiwola Sulyman, popularly known as Opomulero 1, has alleged that the outcome of the forthcoming chairmanship primary in Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is already decided in favour of the incumbent, Mayoress Samiat Abolanle Bada.

Speaking on Friday in reaction to a KosofePost report titled “APC Clears Air on Eligibility of Former Vice Chairmen Ahead of LG Polls”, Opomulero claimed that the May 10, 2025, primary is a mere formality, accusing the APC leadership of orchestrating a predetermined outcome.

“And the winner is Mayoress Samiat Abolanle Bada,” he declared, insisting that the selection process has been skewed in her favour with other aspirants sidelined. “Aspirants’ time, money, and resources have been wasted in a process designed merely to rubber-stamp a prearranged result,” he said.

Opomulero criticized what he described as a breakdown of internal democracy within the party, especially in Kosofe, where he alleged that leaders under the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) had unilaterally endorsed Bada. “I can authoritatively confirm that Mayoress Abolanle Bada is the declared winner. She is the anointed candidate of the party leaders, and her victory will simply be formalized on May 10,” he stated.

The outspoken party member also questioned Bada’s popularity and capacity to unite the APC in Kosofe, warning that her candidacy could erode the party’s support base ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Opomulero did not spare the opposition either, blaming their inaction for APC’s perceived dominance. “The APC is just dancing on the burial grounds of PDP and Labour Party in Kosofe,” he said, attributing the opposition’s ineffectiveness to internal wrangling and lack of credible candidates.

He urged other aspirants to prepare congratulatory messages in anticipation of Bada’s emergence as the party’s flagbearer in tomorrow’s primary, which is scheduled to hold at the APC secretariat in Acme, Lagos.

As the primary election approaches, political observers are watching closely to see whether the contest will reflect genuine competition or confirm the claims of a foregone conclusion.
