A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised the current representation of Kosofe Federal Constituency, blaming House of Representatives aspirant, Dele Oshinowo, for his alleged role in the emergence of the incumbent lawmaker, Kafilat Adetola Ogbara.

The remarks were made during a consultation meeting convened by Oshinowo with APC leaders in Anthony Village, Lagos, as part of his ongoing engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the gathering, the party member expressed dissatisfaction with the constituency’s current representation, describing it as “oko eru”—a Yoruba expression loosely translated as “slave trade”—and alleging poor performance by the lawmaker.

He further accused Oshinowo of being among the key stakeholders who facilitated Ogbara’s emergence in the last election cycle, suggesting that those who supported her candidacy bear responsibility for the current situation.

Despite the criticism, the speaker welcomed Oshinowo’s renewed ambition, expressing optimism that his entry into the race could signal a shift in the constituency’s political direction.

In a video clip from the meeting, the speaker said in Yoruba:
“Oko eru MHR ti awa yin, eyin le kowa de ibe. Inu mi dun wipe eti mura lati ko wa jade ninu eko eru,”
implying that party stakeholders present had contributed to the current outcome but are now prepared to support change.

Political observers note that key APC figures in Kosofe—including the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Moyosore Ogunlewe; Oshinowo; and the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Samiat Abolanle Bada—played significant roles in the electoral success of the incumbent lawmaker.

The development underscores growing internal discontent within the APC in Kosofe, as shifting alliances and renewed ambitions begin to reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
