She made the call on Sunday while speaking at the official launch and inaugural conference of the GET Women Initiative, an event that brought together professionals, community leaders, and advocates committed to promoting women’s development and empowerment.

Addressing participants, Bada stressed that women supporting one another should not be viewed as an act of sympathy or favoritism but as a strategic approach to fostering growth, leadership, and inclusion.

“Women supporting women is not an option; it is a necessity,” she said. “We must deliberately create a culture where women actively build, mentor, and uplift one another.”

The council chairman urged women across different sectors to embrace collaboration by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.

According to her, sustainable progress can only be achieved when women invest in one another and work collectively to remove barriers that limit access to leadership and economic opportunities.

Bada outlined four key pillars that should drive the empowerment of women:

  • Knowledge Sharing: Encouraging experienced professionals to transfer skills, expertise, and insights to younger and emerging women leaders.
  • Positive Influence: Leveraging positions of authority and visibility to inspire change and promote inclusive growth.
  • Mentorship: Building strong mentorship networks that nurture future leaders and support career development.
  • Creating Opportunities: Using influence and decision-making power to open doors for qualified women in employment, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

She noted that the objectives of the GET Women Initiative align with broader efforts to promote gender equity, leadership development, and economic inclusion.

The conference served as a platform for discussions on leadership, professional growth, and the importance of collective success among women in public service, business, and community development.

Participants highlighted the need for stronger networks, increased mentorship opportunities, and intentional support systems that can help women overcome structural and social barriers.

As the event concluded, Bada reiterated her belief that meaningful progress is achieved when women work together and intentionally create pathways for others to succeed.

She expressed optimism that the GET Women Initiative would become a catalyst for empowering more women to take on leadership roles and contribute meaningfully to societal development.
