Ramadan: Cultivate the habit of patriotism in the affairs of your community-Mayor Dele

Muslims in Agboyi Ketu have been advised to use this period of Ramadan to leave by example and cultivate habit of patriotism in the affairs of their community.
The Executive Chairman, Agboyi Ketu Local Development Council Area, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, made the call at the annual Ramadan Lecture organized by the council for residents at Alapere, Lagos.
His words: “Today is a special day for us, a month of reflection and we need to observe. The rights and obligations of the Muslims in civil society is very important for the Muslim community and very important to us.
“As a Muslim we should leave by example and cultivate the habit of patriotism and generosity towards upliftment of mankind, noting that one of the lessons of Ramadan which is selflessness, must reflect in every Muslims lifestyle. It is important that we as good Muslims be honest, caring, loving, humble and at the same time do away with hatred and envy.
Mayor Dele Charged the gathering to abide with government directives and support the government of the day. He emphasized that people must be God fearing and leave exemplary lifestyle in their community in to get a trust.
“It’s very important as a Muslim we leave by example and cultivate the habit of being patriotic, honest, and show love to your neighbours as God said.
Apparently speaking on political development in Agboyi Ketu. Mayor Dele advised that,” Decision of the leaders should abide with. Stressed that leaders were chosen by God. Leaders emerge but it has been ordained by God to prevent anarchy and we must respect that position.
He urged Muslims to be kind, give alms and assist people around them and cultivate the habit of charity in the holy month and beyond.
Mayor Dele also used the occasion to thank the Muslim Community for supporting the government of Agboyi ketu LCDA, adding that,” Without them being there we will not achieve what we have achieved so far.”

Delivering the Ramadan Lecture at the event, tagged “RIGHT AND OBLIGATION OF MUSLIMS IN CIVIL SOCIETY”, the Guest Lecturer, Sheik Idris Olayinka Qamorudeen, enjoined with Muslims to embrace good deeds as the best companion for hereafter and belief in Allah.
He emphasized that Muslims must embrace good deeds and be their brother’s keeper by assisting one another and do away with pull him Down syndrome. He said those who are presently observing the mandatory fast must realize that, if their fast is not accompanied with good deeds it has no reward and amounts to nothing, stressing that God sees the intent of every human being and judges us by our actions and intentions.

He urged politicians to remember their grass to grace journey and the immerse contributions of their supporters to their success story not to neglect them to avoid being neglected when turn the tables Source.

He said, “ Community Chairman , Vice Chairman, Councilors, Supers, Moals ,Traditional leaders best legacy to bequeathed to the people is good deeds to their community”, the Guest Lecturer stated.

The guest lecturer, Sheik Qamorudeen who commended Mayor Dele Oshinowo administration for his exemplary leadership. However, urged office holders to emulate the Council chairman by going beyond the comfort of their offices independently to monitor policy, programmes and projects approved for execution and implementation for public good.

Dignitaries at the highly attended Ramadan Lecture include, Agboyi Ketu Lcda chairman, Mayor Dele oshinowo,Vice Chairman, Alhaji Mufa Okusi, Leader of the House , Honourable Akinyemi Tajudeen and lawmakers, Senior management staffs, CDC, CDA, Youth groups, Community based organisation respectively.

Also in attendance, Olu of Agboyi Ketu, Hrm Oba monsuru Abimbola Oladega, Akinmasa1, Alaketu of Ketu land, Hrm Oba isiaka Adio Oyero, Ex- SLG to Agboyi Ketu, Gbenga Osobu and host of others.
