The incumbent lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon (OKLA), and Farmcity boss, Lanre Carew FCA, are the two heavyweight top contenders for the Kosofe Constituency 1 seat.
Okanlawon, who has tried his bit within 3 years in office, compared to when Kosofe had no credible voice, enjoyed the support of Lagos East Governor’s Advisory Council senatorial District Leader, Otunba Bushira Alebiosu, APC Lagos State Assistant Secretary, Jumoke Animashun, some statutory delegates, ad-hoc delegates, and political stakeholders respectively.
The Farmcity boss, who contested the Assembly seat in 2019, and the Kosofe Local Government chairmanship in 2021, with a good outing, implies that he is not a pushover in Kosofe Politics.
Sources disclosed that he enjoyed the support of the incumbent Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Hon.
Moyosore Ogunlewe, who has been avoiding the incumbent lawmaker in public functions as a result of political differences.
The philanthropist, Carew, whose loyalist is the current General Secretary of the Kosofe Chapter of All Progresives Congress, equally enjoyed the support of statutory delegates and ad-hoc delegates, among others.

Another source said he had the support of the Honourable Rotimi Agunsoye, Member of the House of Representatives representing Lagos’ Kosofe Federal Constituency, and his supporters.
This medium is yet to ascertain which of the contestants a prominent member of the Governor’s Advisory Council, Omoba Olumuyiwa Sosanya, is supporting.
Although we also have a young contestant, Gabriel Oluwafemi, among others, who are also pushing harder to clinch the party ticket.
However, Okanlawon and Carew remain the major contestants for the seat.
All the aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress have romped up campaigns among the party’s delegates ahead of the house of assembly election.
