Traders at the Gunwa market in Ikosi-Isheri have accused former Vice Chairman of the Local Council Development Area, Princess Bola Kazeem, of engaging in unauthorized activities that have affected their businesses. Despite the allegations, Princess Kazeem has remained tight-lipped about the matter.

In response to the traders’ complaints, Executive Chairman of Ikosi Isheri Lcda, Princess Samiat Bada, recently visited the market to address the situation. During her visit, she listened to the traders’ grievances and warned them not to listen to anyone other than the authorized park manager, market women and men.

Princess Bada further directed the traders to inform any unauthorized persons making their lives unbearable that she had visited the market and that she is the solely elected Council Chairman. She also raised the hands of the council recognized Iyaloja and Baba oloja to the traders, stating that they have worked for the success of the party at the just concluded poll, and she will not be a party to any attempt to replace them after their labor.

The market women alleged that Princess Kazeem has been parading herself as a Local Council and State Government agent, collecting revenue and causing problems for the traders. However, Princess Kazeem has yet to respond to the allegations, as the text messages and video sent to her for her side of the story were not replied.

Council Chairman Princess Bada visited the market to assure the traders of finding a lasting solution to the issue. She also called on Princess Kazeem to stop parading herself as the agent of government in collecting revenue for either the local government or the state. Princess Bada urged Muslim faithful in the market whose worshipping spot wanted to be converted to K-Klamps to continue with their worshipping.

The traders hope that the intervention of the Council Chairman will bring about a resolution to the problem and restore normalcy to the market.
