As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum, publisher of The StreetJournal and President of the Association of Media Practitioners of Nigeria (AMPON), Mogaji Wole Arisekola, has endorsed Farouk Arisekola Alao, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

Farouk is the son of the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao.

In a statement issued on Monday, Mogaji Arisekola called on eligible voters across the constituency to support the APC candidate, describing the election as an opportunity to honour the legacy of the late businessman and philanthropist.

According to him, the late Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao made significant contributions to the development of Oyo State and touched many lives through his philanthropy and community service.

“One meaningful way to honour his memory is by supporting his son, Farouk Arisekola Alao, at the polls,” he said.

“By doing so, we will be expressing our gratitude for the sacrifices and selfless service his father rendered to our people.”

Mogaji Arisekola also referenced his previous political endorsements, noting that he had publicly supported the candidate backed by Governor Seyi Makinde during the last by-election, a candidate who eventually won the election.

He urged constituents to demonstrate similar support for Farouk Arisekola Alao in the forthcoming House of Representatives election.

“This time, I respectfully ask you to stand with Farouk Arisekola Alao. Let us show our appreciation to the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland for his immense contributions to the people of Oyo State by giving his son our wholehearted support,” he added.

The endorsement is expected to boost Farouk Arisekola Alao’s campaign as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The Ibadan North Federal Constituency is expected to witness keen political competition, with parties and candidates gradually unveiling their campaign strategies ahead of the polls.
